Equivalency determination
for licensure as an audiologist
If you have not completed a Recognized Education Program, as listed in Schedule 5 of the CHCPBC Bylaws, you may be required to complete an equivalency determination before applying for licensure with CHCPBC.
Step 1
Download the Equivalency assessment information form.
Complete the form and send it by email to licensure@chcpbc.org.
Please allow time for the Licensure team to review your form. Once they have completed their review, they will send you an email with instructions to access your new CHCPBC account.
Step 2
Log in to your CHCPBC account and pay the assessment fee.
Step 3
Arrange for the following documentation to be sent to CHCPBC (via email to licensure@chcpbc.org or mail, where applicable):
- Official transcripts
(must be sent directly to CHCPBC by your educational institution) - Education evaluation
(must be sent directly to CHCPBC by the evaluation organization) - Summary of clinical practicum hours form (PDF)
(must be completed, signed, and sent directly to CHCPBC by your educational institution) - Employer verification letters (if applicable), confirming your duties, scope of practice, dates of employment and hours worked
(must be sent directly to CHCPBC by your employer(s))
Send the following to CHCPBC at licensure@chcpbc.org:
- Academic coursework requirements form (PDF)
- Professional Practice Experience (if applicable):
- A detailed CV outlining your employment history
- A description of your scope of practice in your jurisdiction
(may be obtained from your regulatory body, employer, or other official source, where applicable) - Records of continuing education or professional development
Your education, clinical training, and professional practice experience (if applicable) will be reviewed by the CHCPBC Licence Committee. If the committee determines that your education and skills are equivalent to the entry-to-practice requirements in British Columbia, you will be invited to apply for licensure.
Estimated timeline: Approximately 6–8 weeks after payment of fee and submission of all required documentation
Do not begin your application for licensure until you have received the results of your equivalency determination and been invited to submit an application.
