The Ministry of Health has posted a regulation on the Professional Regulation page of its website confirming they have made a final decision about the name of this college.

The final name is the same as the one that was proposed for feedback: The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. 

With the final name, we can advance work to create the college’s brand identity and begin building public awareness of the new college in the coming months.

Update on the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination review

CHCPBC has posted the following message on behalf of the Alliance of Canadian Dietetic Regulatory Bodies: The review of the May 2025 Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam (CDRE), and the exam development process is completed with no concerns identified. The next CDRE will be administered May 22-23, 2025.

Changes to physical therapy examination requirement in 2026

The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) will launch a single licensure examination in 2026. The Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE) will replace the current two-exam model. For a limited time during the transition phase, applicants may pursue either the two-exam or single-exam pathway.

Opportunity to join CHCPBC regulatory committees

CHCPBC is seeking public and registrant members for three regulatory committees to ensure adequate diversity of perspectives, lived experience, and profession-specific expertise. The committees include: Inquiry Committee, Professional Practice and Standards Advisory Committee, and Registration Committee.

National Dietetics Exam to undergo expert review

The Alliance of Canadian Dietetic Regulatory Bodies, the national group of dietetic regulatory bodies across Canada, is undertaking a review of the exam process and outcomes for the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination (CDRE).
