Preparing for the Health Professions and Occupations Act
A key priority for the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC is to prepare for a change in the legislation that sets out how BC’s health professionals are regulated. The current Health Professions Act will be replaced by the new Health Professions and Occupations Act that is expected to be brought into force in 2025.
Webinar: Governance and profession-specific expertise at CHCPBC
On December 18, 2024, CHCPBC held a webinar providing an overview of governance and profession-specific expertise at the College. CHCPBC Registrar Dianne Millette, Bradley Chisholm of The Regulator’s Practice, and other CHCPBC staff participated in the webinar. A video of the session is available for viewing.

Our obligation to create a safe and respectful environment for gender diverse people
Earlier this month, we launched a new policy on gender diversity. Its purpose is to ensure all of us within CHCPBC contribute to a workplace that is safe and inclusive for everyone.
Quality practice is proactive regulation
Quality practice ensures a better experience for patients and clients, and helps to improve health outcomes. It is also preventative, in that it reduces the likelihood of care that falls below expectations, resulting in complaints.
