Notice of Public Consultation: CHCPBC Bylaws under the HPOA

Home 5 News 5 Notice of Public Consultation: CHCPBC Bylaws under the HPOA

May 15, 2025

The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) is working towards the enactment of the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) later this year.  As part of our work to prepare for this incoming legislation, CHCPBC has drafted bylaws and is beginning a process of public consultation starting Thursday, May 15, 2025.

This consultation is open to all members of the public. We ask that consultation be limited to comments on the draft bylaws and not include feedback on the HPOA.

Consultations with Indigenous Governing Bodies, as are required under the HPOA, are being conducted separately and in addition to this public consultation process.

The final bylaws will be approved by the Board and will come into effect upon enactment of the HPOA later this year.

See the draft bylaws and bylaws consultation schedule and details about implementation of the HPOA.

The draft bylaws will be released for consultation in groups over a two-month period. CHCPBC is now seeking feedback on the following parts:

  • Board
  • College administration
  • College records and information
  • Committees
  • Permits
  • Public protection

For each part, a full version, an overview, and an online feedback form are available. Please submit your feedback via the online form by June 30, 2025.

Review draft bylaws and provide feedback.
