Licence renewal for 2026/2027 for all nine professions regulated by CHCPBC is open in the Licensee Portal. March 31, 2026 is the renewal deadline. For information on renewing your licence, see the Renewal page.

Practice Resources

Practice resources assist and support licensees with awareness and application of regulatory requirements, outlined in ethics and practice standardsbylaws, and provincial legislation and regulations.

A significant project is underway to provide licensees with a variety of health professions-wide and profession-specific resources that will support regulatory requirements and public protection under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA). While this project is underway, licensees will continue to have access to information to assist them in their own practice. This information includes practice resources under the HPOA, as well as retired but still publicly available practice resources under the Health Professions Act (HPA).

Licensees are encouraged to contact CHCPBC Practice Support when seeking information related to implementing regulatory requirements into practice. Profession-specific Practice Advisors help to increase licensees’ awareness of regulatory requirements and College resources to support decision-making in practice.

Archiving HPA Practice Resources

In past years, practice resources were developed and published for all professions regulated by CHCPBC, based on regulatory requirements at that time. Although many practice expectations have not changed significantly, with the introduction of new regulatory requirements—including the HPOA, revised provincial regulations, and new HPOA-aligned bylaws and ethics and practice standards—these historical resources may not accurately reflect regulatory practice requirements under the HPOA.

CHCPBC has retired or archived practice resource documents developed under the HPA. Retired and archived documents may continue to be useful to licensees in their practice setting. However, effective April 1, 2026, these documents are no longer considered standards or guidance under the HPOA. Over time, they will be archived and replaced with practice resources under the HPOA

  • Retired: A document that is no longer considered standards or guidance but is still publicly available for reference.
  • Archived: A document that is no longer considered standards or guidance and is no longer publicly available.

Retired, publicly available practice resources

The following practice resources created under the HPA are retired, effective April 1, 2026, corresponding with the HPOA in-force dateFor the time being, the documents will continue to be publicly available as general information for licensees in their specific practice settingHowever, effective April 1, these retired documents are not considered standards or guidance under the HPOA. In time, these retired resource documents will no longer be publicly available and will be replaced with practice resources under the HPOA
