CHCPBC’s regulatory committees include both licensee members and members of the public. The College is currently seeking licensee members for two committees to ensure adequate diversity of perspectives, lived experience, and profession-specific expertise. 

Committee members are compensated for the time needed for preparation and meeting attendance in accordance with CHCPBC’s Board and Committee Member Compensation Policy (PDF). Time commitment varies according to committee and profession; meetings are held during business hours from Monday to Friday.  

The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest form for joining the committees is April 6, 2026. CHCPBC will let all respondents know in June 2026 whether or not they have been selected for appointment to the committee.

Please note that renewal for the 2026/2027 licensing year ends March 31, 2026. To be eligible for appointment to a CHCPBC committee, you must be a full licensee. 

Investigation Committee

This committee opportunity is open to the following licensees: 

  • Audiologists
  • Hearing instrument practitioners 
  • Speech-language pathologists 
  • Physical therapists 

The Investigation Committee oversees the College’s investigation program including the investigation of complaints regarding a licensee’s conduct, competence and/or capacity to practise.

Licence Committee

This committee opportunity is open to the following licensees: 

  • Dietitians 
  • Occupational therapists 

The Licence Committee oversees the College’s licence program, including the licensure and certification of applicants and the renewal of licences.

Changes to psychology supervision plans on April 1, 2026

As of April 1, 2026, psychology supervision plans will no longer be an acceptable practice authority in BC. This change will impact individuals who were applicants and not currently registered and are or have been providing psychological services under a psychology “supervision plan,” and psychologists supervising such individuals.

CHCPBC has designed a comprehensive new approach to quality practice that includes continuing professional development, practice support, and quality assurance assessments. The Professional & Quality Practice Program (PQPP) will launch in fall 2026 and will apply to all nine professions regulated by the College.

VFSS certifications repealed from bylaws

Changes are coming to Schedule 10, Certified Practice in the CHCPBC Bylaws to remove the need for certification for some videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) certifications. When the bylaw amendments come into effect, speech-language pathologists can be involved in the provision of VFSS without regulatory limits or conditions as part of their scope of practice.

HPOA Licensee Webinar Series

CHCPBC will host the HPOA Licensee Webinar Series. Each session in the series will focus on a different aspect of the Health Professions and Occupations Act and what it means for licensees. Recordings of the sessions will be made available.

Opportunity to join the CHCPBC Registration Committee

CHCPBC’s Registration Committee includes both registrant members and public members. The College is recruiting for psychologist and school psychologist registrant members for this committee, with a view to ensure adequate diversity of perspectives, lived experience, and profession-specific expertise.

HPOA bylaws consultation: Delegation

CHCPBC is seeking feedback on an additional part of draft bylaws for the College under the Health Professions and Occupations Act: Delegation. Feedback is due October 22, 2025. Feedback can also still be sent, until October 15, 2025, on two other parts of the draft bylaws: Continuing Professional Development and Professional Responsibilities.
