In June, the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) transitioned to a single database for all licensees as part of our goal of achieving greater consistency in the way we regulate professions. As a result of this change, all applicants and licensees were assigned a new seven-digit Licensee number.
CHCPBC is collaborating with third-party payers to update licensee numbers where possible to maintain efficient patient claims processing. Licensees may be required to update their licensee numbers with some organizations. For more information on the change in licensee numbers, please review the Frequently Asked Questions.
Aligning our systems to improve access
Moving all professions into a single database will improve access to information for the public through the following:
- A single public registry for all CHCPBC-regulated professions reflecting all licences and certifications held by an individual licensee. Members of the public will no longer need to know which profession to search for as all licensees can be searched in one place.
- Improved support when individuals contact CHCPBC. Staff will use one system to quickly locate consolidated information to respond to enquiries.
If you have any questions about the change to licensee numbers, please use the contact form and select “Licensure” as the subject of enquiry.
